An open invitation for Friday 30th October to all ladies who cycle in Greater London...
Posted on 28 Oct 2009
You may remember this article we featured in the Bike Belles site a few weeks ago which looked at the importance of the bicycle in the Women's Liberation movements of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century.
Well here's your chance to relive those glory days of cycling for women and get involved with an exciting project to celebrate the freedom the bicycle gave to women of these times.
'Velotica' takes place at The Tabernacle in Powis Square, London W11 on Friday 30th October, and is open to all ladies who want to dress up and be photographed in all their finery on a bicycle.
Some vintage bikes and dressing up accessories will be provided, but please do bring your own accessories, friends, bikes and a whole lot of imagination. The photo booth will be private, so you can be as daring as you wish!
The fun starts at 6pm and goes on until late. For more information, call 0207 4604115 or email ladieswhocycle@gmail.com.
